At MyJapanTour, we designed these eleven days to reveal Japan the way it unfolds best: slowly, and from its cultural heart outward. We open in Tokyo, where the ancient Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa stands within sight of the Skytree, then guide you west by Shinkansen through the coastal towns of Yokohama and Kamakura to Kyoto, the quiet keeper of Japan's heritage. We have built in the moments we think matter most, from a traditional boat dinner beneath the city lights to a walk beneath the vermilion gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, and we have kept the pace unhurried, balancing our guided days with free time of your own. Our aim is simple: that by the time you reach the Great Buddha and the sacred deer of Nara, you understand why we keep returning to Japan, and want to return yourself.
Sip first-press raw sake, poured straight from the tank, at one of the oldest working sake breweries in central Kyoto — still run by the same family 12 generations on, and pressing a namazake you'll rarely find outside the brewery gates.

Ride to the top of Tokyo Skytree, at 634 meters the tallest tower in Japan and one of the tallest structures on Earth, and watch the largest city in the world spread out beneath you until it fades into the horizon.
Cross the country on the Shinkansen, the bullet train that runs at up to 285 km/h — a journey that once took days now folds into a couple of comfortable hours, with a bento on your lap and Mount Fuji country blurring past the window.
Walk among more than 1,000 wild sacred deer in Nara, Japan's 1,300-year-old first capital, where they roam completely free and a few will bow their heads to you for a cracker — then stand beneath a bronze Great Buddha some 15 meters tall, inside one of the largest wooden buildings in the world.

Walk the harbor in the sea breeze, past cargo cranes and a Ferris wheel, and wander the red-brick warehouses that once loaded ships and now hold cafes and shops. As the lanterns come on, head into Yokohama Chinatown, the largest in Japan, and follow the crowds through the steam and the smell of the grills. Round off the night with a bowl of noodles or a bao bun eaten on the move.

From the heights, look out over the whole lake and the mountains beyond. Breathe the cool, resin-scented air and let the mountain quiet settle over you.
