We shaped this two-day retreat to show the many sides of Hakone, a mountain hot spring region within easy reach of Tokyo. A private vehicle takes you between every stop, so there's no local transport to figure out and no map to follow on your own. We take you from an open-air sculpture museum and a garden of seasonal flowers to a ropeway over a steaming volcanic valley, then a cruise across Lake Ashi to the lakeside torii of Hakone Shrine. With transport and an overnight stay arranged, you're free to move between art, nature, and quiet water at your own pace.
We shaped this two-day retreat to show the many sides of Hakone, a mountain hot spring region within easy reach of Tokyo.
